buh-bye fall

halloween is gone, thanksgiving is over, it's time to break out the christmas decor.

which means getting rid of the harvest decor and raking up the leaves. so that's what we did!

grayson and i enjoyed the crisp air (and his new jacket from auntie mandy!)

hahaha. i would not know this was my child had i not been there for the photo.

game time!

we're eagles fans in this house but grayson got a special present from his friend dave this weekend. in honor of the game tonight i felt the need to put it on him.

incase you can't tell, that's a chicago bear's shirt he's wearing. his daddy is not thrilled (and being oh so subtle about it)

regardless of their loss the boys still enjoyed the game.

santa baby

i love christmas. everything about that time of year warms my heart. 


with my sister now living right outside nyc it will make city trips so easy. we already have grayson's first city trip planned. mark has a couple long weekends in december so we're going up there and taking him to macys. we will visit the tree then go see santa. it will be a total loss on a five month old but i will love it!

babies make you flabby

in an attempt to get rid of some of this baby weight i burned a dvd set called the slim 6 from a friend of mine. i had mark pick them up for me and bring them home. here is how our conversation went..


mark: i thought you were having me pick up baby dvds
me: no it's a workout program i'm going to start now that i'm working part time
mark: so you're going to be one of those people who works out in front of the tv and all the neighbor kids can look in and watch as they walk to school

nothing makes grayson laugh and smile more then when he's staring at himself in the mirror. i don't know what it is about seeing himself but he gets so happy. he must realize how cute he is!

domestic goddess

maybe not a goddess but i did want to report that i have been keeping up with my goal of cooking more often! pretty much every night of the week in fact.


i've been trying to utilize my crock pot more. i don't know many recipes though. so here is where i ask all of you for your best crock pot recipes that i can steal!

my parents will are wonderful. we are so fortunate that we are able to get out of the house often baby free. and even more, not have to worry about how he is doing. i love spending all my time with baby g but a night out with adults having some fun is needed from time to time.

it was our friend robin's birthday so what better way to spend it then cosmic bowling at lucky strikes.

i don't know why but grayson LOVES it. it's the only way i can get him to calm down when he's crying on a car ride. i have to be singing it loud though, and in a silly voice. the second i stop he goes back to crying.

mommy turns 26

i always treated my birthday like a national holiday. as i've gotten older though it's less of a big deal. this year all i wanted was to hang out with my boys and relax. 

it was the first day of my part time weeks so mark took off and we spent the day together. we went out to breakfast- we enjoyed pancakes while he enjoyed his dad's fingers (we're teething! fun.)

then we went over to my parents an i sat on my butt and watched showtime all day. i love weeds and the big c but we don't get the premium channels anymore. so while everyone was at work i was enjoying their premium television. it was wonderful. exactly how i wanted to spend my day. 

who wouldn't want to spend the day with that face!?

grayson has gotten better and better about sleeping at night. we went from him getting up every few hours, to just once a night, to sleeping THROUGH the night! woohoo. monday he slept all night long. went to bed at 9:30 and had to be woken up the next morning at 8. it was wonderful. i was so happy with him.

every night since then has gotten worse. he is reverting back to his newborn sleeping habits. last night he was up every couple hours, then awake and wanting to play at 6:45.

i have not been torturing my child again by making him sleep in the carseat. he's back in his bed. mark got the motion sensor to work in his crib so now g and i can both sleep comfortably. he actually doesn't always roll onto his belly, but if he does i don't freak out quite as much. 

it's a beautiful thing, a sleeping baby. (especially one who has been sleeping till 530am!)

weekend adventure

sunday morning we packed up two cars to the very brim and headed up to north jersey to move my sister in her new place. i am so very grateful that grayson slept the whole ride up there (after sleeping through the entire night!). i was worried we would spend the entire two hours with a screaming baby and many rest stop trips. being the wonderful baby he is though that was not the case (thank you grayson). actually on the car ride home he was awake the whole time and spent a good 45 minutes talking to his book. 

the move-in actually wasn't so bad. they boys unloaded all 4 cars while i started cleaning the place so my sister could unpack. 

we brought up grayson's jumperoo and he was perfectly happy to sit and play all afternoon.
