i am a cronic worrier. grayson had a low birth weight and he's a male, so there are two strikes against him already. we put him to bed last night and when i went up he was on his belly with his face in the mattress. no freakin way was i letting him sleep that way.
so up came the carseat. he slept in it on the floor next to my bed. he was not happy about the situation though, he kept letting out these annoyed cries through the night and i would have to rock him back to sleep. needless to say. i am tired today.
we have an anglecare monitor with a sensor but we can't figure out how to use it. (ps mark this is your reminder to call them today!) if it was working properly i would feel a whole lot better but until it is clearly no one will be sleeping.
Hmmm... I hope you come up with a good alternative soon. Can't have him sleeping in his carseat forever!!

when henry was five months old, he started sleeping on his belly and it totally scared the crap out of me. i'd go in and turn him over, only to have him flip back on his belly seconds later. i would drink like 14 glasses of water before bed so that way i'd always be up peeing throughout the night and i could check on him. one thought that helped ease my mind a tiny bit was to think about how many babies (including us!) must have slept on their bellies, before they knew that it might contribute to SIDS. also, my nanny boss told me that she read something saying that now they think that some babies are just born without the thing in their brain that tells them to wake up if they cannot breathe. so really, there isn't a whole lot we can do.
